Non-league Chesterfield pulled off a giant-killing act by defeating League One leaders Portsmouth in the first round of the FA Cup. Tom Naylor scored the only goal of the game, heading home a free-kick in the 32nd minute. Despite their dominance, Pompey couldn’t find a way past Chesterfield’s relentless defense, and the National League leaders secured a memorable victory.
Eighth-tier Cray Valley earned a deserved replay against League One side Charlton after a 1-1 draw at The Valley. Scott Fraser gave Charlton an early lead, but Cray Valley drew level when Lucas Ness turned a cross from Kyrell Lisbie into his net.
